Live Oak Labs LLC ("Live Oak Labs", "we", "our", or "us") is a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use the Harmony House mobile application (the "App"), visit our website at liveoak-labs.com (the "Website"), or contact us (together, the "Services").
Live Oak Labs LLC is the "controller" (sometimes called the "business") responsible for your personal information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
Information you provide to us:
Information collected automatically:
Information from third parties:
What we do not collect: we do not collect your precise GPS location, your contacts list, your payment card or bank account numbers (Apple processes all subscription payments), or biometric information. The App records rent and expense amounts that you enter; it does not currently move money between people.
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell it.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:
Ask Harmony is an AI assistant built into the App. When you ask it a question, we send your question, along with the household information needed to answer it (such as balances, chores, or shopping list items), to a third-party AI service provider that processes it on our behalf and returns a response.
With your household. Harmony House is a shared app. Content you add to a household, along with your name and profile photo, is visible to the other members of that household. If your household is linked to a property, the landlord or property manager for that property can see the household information made available to landlords in the App (for example, rent records and maintenance requests). Please think about what you share.
With service providers. We share information with companies that help us run the Services. They may use it only to provide services to us:
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Live Oak Labs, our users, or others.
In a business transfer. If Live Oak Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent. We may share information for other purposes if you ask us to or give us permission.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not use third-party advertising or advertising analytics tools in the App.
The App does not use cookies. The Website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver and secure the Website. Because we do not track you across websites, we treat browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals as consistent with how we already operate.
Push notifications: with your permission, we send notifications about activity in your household (for example, a new chore or message). You can turn them off at any time in your device's Settings.
SMS: we use your phone number to send one-time passcodes for signing in. We do not send marketing text messages. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep certain information longer to comply with the law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until those backups are overwritten in the normal course.
Because Harmony House is shared, some content you contributed to a household (for example, messages you sent or expenses involving other members) may remain part of that household's shared records for the remaining members after you leave or delete your account, so their records stay accurate.
You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time from inside the App: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can also email hello@liveoak-labs.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from, or including, the phone number or email associated with your account.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription billed through Apple. To avoid future charges, cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, one-time-passcode or Apple sign-in authentication, and row-level security that limits database access to authorized household members. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Harmony House is intended only for adults 18 years of age or older, as stated in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including children under 13. If you believe someone under 18 has given us personal information, contact us at hello@liveoak-labs.com and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
How to make a request: email hello@liveoak-labs.com. To protect your account, we will verify your request, usually by confirming the phone number or email linked to your account. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority and verify your identity directly. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 to 45 days, and we will tell you if we need more time).
Appeals: if we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing us with the subject "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
This section supplements this policy under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"). In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the business purposes described in Sections 2 and 3:
We disclose these categories only to the recipients described in Section 6, for business purposes. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted by the CCPA, so we do not offer a "limit the use" option. We do not sell or share personal information and have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the information of consumers under 16. We keep each category for the period described in Section 10.
California's "Shine the Light" law lets residents ask about disclosures to third parties for direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others) have the rights described in Section 14, as provided by their state's law. We do not sell personal data, process it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Live Oak Labs is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those where you live. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses included in our service providers' data processing agreements.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The Services may link to third-party websites and services, such as the App Store and our social media pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means before the changes take effect. We will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first. We will try to resolve it within 30 days. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
